Common Ground 2018

“You’re ripped at every edge but you’re a masterpiece.”

-Halsey

For those of you who don’t know, Common Ground is a music festival that comes to Michigan once a year for four days (typically Thursday-Sunday) of the summer. In those four days there are a range of artists, foods and vendors.

This year I had the amazing opportunity to go to the Friday night show (shout out to my friend for the free ticket) where the main act was HALSEY!!

Personally, I have always been a fan of her music and if you have not listened to her before, I highly recommend doing so.

Out of the concerts I have been to so far throughout my 19 years I have learned one thing. Either the artist sounds great live orrrr not so much. This time I found that Halsey is just as amazing live as her recorded music.

Not only does Halsey sound amazing, but she is also a very funny genuine person. Throughout the concert in between songs she would tell stories about past gigs, what it was like when she heard her songs on the radio for the first time and even made joke about how “Closer” became so popular it was overplayed and an Uber told her that HER voice was annoying without realizing!

Lastly, Halsey’s stage effects throughout the performance were amazing. For each some there was a different background displayed on the stage as well as colored lights that shone into the crowd that perfectly matched the mood of the song she was singing at the time.

Overall, Common Ground was amazing and I hope to see Halsey in concert again one day and everyone should check out her music!

Until next time!!

XOXO
