Standing in the center of the room.
The cold cement chills your toes.
The walls are bare.
A shiver shoots down your spine.
It’s not the cold.
You can hear the blood rushing through your veins.
Anxiety crashes in.
You think to yourself,
Close your eyes.
Take a breath.
Tension seems to drain from your body.
But only for a moment.
Suddenly your mouth becomes dry.
You look around
Longing for the taste of a cool glass of water.
Across the room there’s a metal sink.
You can’t move.
Then you wake up
And you are calm.
